Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am writing to request information relating to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued by the authority for yellow box junction contraventions.
For the purposes of this request, I am referring specifically to PCNs issued for vehicles entering and stopping in a yellow box junction when prohibited.
I would be grateful if you could provide the following information:
Q1. The total number of PCNs issued for yellow box junction contraventions during each of the following periods:
· 1 January to 31 December 2023
· 1 January to 31 December 2024
· 1 January to 31 December 2025
· 1 January to 31 July 2026
If figures to 31 July 2026 are not yet available, please provide figures to the latest complete month available and specify the period covered.
Q2. For each of the periods above, please provide the five yellow box junction enforcement locations where the highest number of PCNs was issued, including:
· The road, junction or enforcement location name.
· The number of PCNs issued at that location.
If fewer than five yellow box junction locations were enforced during any of the periods above, please provide figures for all locations enforced.
Q3. For each of the periods above, please provide the total amount received by the authority from yellow box junction PCNs issued during that period.
If revenue is not recorded according to the date on which the PCN was issued, please provide the information in the format in which it is held and explain the basis used.
Q4. For yellow box junction PCNs issued during each of the periods above, please provide, as at the date of your response:
· The number of PCNs for which an outstanding balance remains.
· The total outstanding balance relating to those PCNs.
Q5. Please provide the total number of yellow box junction locations currently subject to camera enforcement by the authority.
