Response:    13 April 2026

I can confirm that Essex County Council does hold some of this information, and where we are able to release this, our response is listed below.

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am writing to request the following information relating to moving traffic enforcement and bus lane enforcement cameras operated by your authority:

Question 1 - The location of each CCTV camera used for civil traffic enforcement (street address and/or GPS coordinates/grid reference)

Question 2 - The contravention type enforced at each location (e.g. box junction, banned turn, bus lane, pedestrian zone, school keep clear)

Question 3 - The operating hours/days for each camera

Question 4 - The date enforcement began at each location

Question 5 - Whether each camera is fixed-position or mobile/deployable

Essex County Council only enforce bus gates by camera and the location of all our fixed bus gate enforcement cameras are available online - https://www.essexhighways.org/bus-lane-enforcement. Our bus gates are enforced all day.

Please see the attached spreadsheet of camera locations and enforcement start dates.

Essex County Council has devolved powers as the traffic authority to two lead councils in Essex for the enforcement of on-street parking. Please contact the Parking Partnerships who may be able to assist.
